“I think the difference is that, back in the day, horror films were less respected,” said “Nightmare” star Thomas Dekker. “And so, if someone did a good performance in a supposedly not-gonna-be-very-good movie, and especially if the movie turned out to be good, suddenly they would be given double the respect.” A 22-year-old horror junkie, Dekker’s biggest role to date was a part on the now-canceled TV series “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.”

“Now, horror films are highly regarded and highly respected, especially one of this size,” Dekker said. “They expect automatically good actors to be in it. Friday’s “Nightmare” is the latest remake from producer Bay’s Platinum Dunes, the company behind remakes of “The Amityville Horror,” “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre” and “Friday the 13th.

However, the inclusion of the Taylor Ambrose storyline was amazing and very well done. When he looks into her eyes and she tells him she’s relapsing, the expression on his face just killed me. I was hunched over the theatre seat, trying to be quiet while keeping the tears from running down my neck. The scene in which he comes to joke with her as she starts chemotherapy again, then swoops in to rescue her with the pink basin and wipes her face gently… I could barely breathe, it was so moving. Thomas Dekker did such a fantastic job as Taylor that I didn’t even recognize him as John Connor from “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles” or Zach from “Heroes”! I even found myself hoping that these characters would find each other again after death as I wandered drearily out of the movie theater.

Seems all Thomas is getting is wonderful reviews for his part, I myself really connected to his character when I saw it. It’s a very touching film and while even I’m not into chick flicks? This is one that I’ll be buying for sure when it’s released. Not because it’s Thomas, but because the entire story is beautiful (it also prompted me to read the book too)

With everything settled down now, I can finally get back on track with my sites, things have just been crazy busy. I’ll have a much larger update in the coming days including some news about My Sister’s Keeper which I’ve been given.

Yes, sadly it’s the truth, the campaigns weren’t enough to save the show,it has officially been canceled by Fox. The decline in the viewers and other factors proved to be the death of the show. Don’t worry though, Thomas is scheduled for the Nightmare on Elm Street movie where he’ll be playing a character named Jessie, I’ll keep you informed of this.

Also,I apologize for my absence from the site, some issues have been going on in my off line life that I’m still working through. And I’m starting to really dislike the look of the layout set up so that might be changing.

I do still live, I’ve just been incredibly busy but I did cap and watch Laid to Rest. I’m going to keep the comments about the movie to myself but the caps are up in the gallery and they are pretty so go check them out.
